UPDATE: Appeal for information following serious collision near Guildford

Surrey Police was called to Stakescorner Road, Compton at around 7.15pm after a blue Citroen C4 left the road and collided with a tree.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was taken to hospital where he died on Saturday, 14 January.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or the events surrounding it is urged to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit by calling 01483 639922 quoting reference P17004416.

Surrey Police is appealing for witnesses following a serious collision in Stakescorner Road, Compton last night (Friday, 6 January).

The collision took place at around 7.15pm near to Loseley Park and involved a blue Citroen C4 car which left the road and hit a tree.

The driver, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.

The road was closed between Sandy Lane and Compton Lane whilst emergency services were in attendance. It has now reopened.

An investigation into the circumstances of the collision is underway and officers are asking for any witnesses who saw the collision or the events leading up to it to contact Surrey Police.
