Appeal for witnesses following assault on Easter Monday in Chertsey

Surrey Police is appealing for witnesses after a boy was assaulted in Chertsey on Easter Monday (17 April).

The boy was on his bike and was crossing Fordwater Road around 2.30pm, when an older man dragged him up by his neck, punched him in the face and then pushed him up the street.

The boy is described as white, aged six to seven years, of a slim build with blonde hair and riding a black and white bike. The older man is described as white, in his mid 40s, tall and wearing grey clothing. It is possible they were carrying shopping bags from the nearby Co-Op supermarket.

Officers are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident, or would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened, or who has any other information.
