Appeal to trace witnesses following an incident in West Croydon
We are appealing for witnesses following an assault and theft that occurred on Friday (27 July).
The incident happened around West Croydon train station at approximately 3pm when a man assaulted a woman and stole some cash from her. The victim received injuries consistent of actual bodily harm (ABH).
Detective Constable Joseph Smith said: “The victim has told us that members of the public were around at the time of the incident and we know that some of those people came forward to help her.
“If you saw what happened or were one of the people that stepped in to help please get in touch with us immediately.”
Gurinder Singh, 27, of no fixed abode, has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He will be appearing at Staines Magistrates Court on Friday, 14 September.
Officers are still seeking further witnesses to come forward.
