Did you see serious collision involving cyclist and lorry in Staines?

Surrey Police is appealing for witnesses after a teenage boy suffered serious injuries during a collision between an HGV and a pedal cycle in Staines.

The incident took place at the junction of Elmsleigh Road and Thames Street just before 3pm today (Thursday, 16 February) when an HGV collided with a pedal cyclist.

The cyclist, a 17-year-old boy, suffered serious leg injuries and was taken by ambulance to St George's Hospital in Tooting.

Specialist investigators are carrying out an examination of the scene and road closures are expected to remain in place for a number of hours. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
