UPDATE: CCTV pictures released of man in connection with Worcester Park robbery
Surrey Police is appealing for the public’s help in identifying a man in the new CCTV images released as part of an investigation into a robbery in Worcester Park.
The images are of a man officers would like to talk to in connection with the robbery that took place at 1.57pm on Thursday, September 7 near the railway underpass on Dewsbury Gardens, off Lynwood Drive when an elderly woman had her handbag snatched.
The victim, was left with multiple injuries, including a broken finger and suspected broken bone in her back, after her handbag was ripped from around her neck.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Colin Snell said: “We want to reassure the public that we are doing everything we can to identify the person responsible for the cowardly robbery of an elderly woman, leaving her with multiple injuries.
“For anyone who may recognise the man in the CCTV images, then please contact us.
“I would advise if you have to walk, avoid short cuts in lonely areas. Please also keep to well-lit busy streets, and consider carrying a personal attack alarm. Further information on how to stay safe can be found on our website www.surrey.police.uk/advice/.”
