Officers appeal for witnesses following attempted armed robbery in Ewell

Surrey Police is appealing for witnesses after an attempted armed robbery took place at Best One on Stoneleigh Park Road in Ewell this afternoon (10 August).


Police were called at around 2.03pm following reports that a boy aged around 16-17 entered the off-license and threatened staff with a hand gun just before 2pm. The boy then ran off in the direction of Stoneleigh train station.


The boy is described as white, with light coloured hair, wearing a black gillet, black gloves, a black and orange hat and a red hoodie.


Officers are currently searching for the suspect and there is increased police presence in the area.


He is believed to have discarded some his clothing and officers specifically need anyone in the local area to contact them if they see any items of clothing outside.
