Surrey Police is urgently appealing for witnesses after a stolen vehicle failed to stop for police this afternoon (25 July).

Police in Sussex received a report of a burglary around 3pm where a light blue BMW was stolen by a man.

The vehicle travelled northbound on the M23 then onto the M25 while it was pursued by specially trained officers at 3.26pm, ending at 3.34pm on Hurst Drive in Walton-on-the-Hill. The man then decamped and headed towards Chequers Lane.

Investigating officers need to hear from witnesses who saw the occupants make off from the car.

One man has been described as white, aged approximately in his late 20’s, wearing a white shirt and a white baseball cap. He was possibly accompanied by another male.

Officers were assisted by the National Police Air Service.

Anyone with any information or with dash cam footage is asked to contact Surrey Police on 101, quoting crime reference number P17187418 or use the online reporting system https://report.police.uk/
